Role: Coordinator on the Bavarian side
Responsibilities: Ensures Bavarian work-plan milestones and indicators; organises two conferences in Germany and contributes to joint activities with Czech partners; leads knowledge transfer to SMEs in Bavaria through workshops, network events and applied use-cases; focuses on translating quantum computing (QC) and high-performance computing (HPC) capabilities into industry-ready solutions.
about the partner
DIT’s Institute of Future Technologies (IFT) is a multidisciplinary hub in QC, HPC and AI with strong ties to industry. It serves as an HPC contact partner within KONWIHR and contributes to the EDIH “Digital Innovation Ostbayern (DInO)” in the “Test before Invest” pillar, offering QC/HPC capacity services to SMEs and public organisations; DIT also runs one of Germany’s first Master’s programmes in HPC/QC.
WEST BOHEMIAN UNIVERSITY IN PILSEN (ZČU)
about the role in the project
Role: Lead Partner and overall coordinator of the project.
Responsibilities: Ensures delivery of project objectives and indicators; coordinates activities with all partners; organizes two conferences in the Czech Republic and participates in joint activities with Bavarian partners; leads knowledge transfer to SMEs in the Pilsen and Karlovy Vary regions; prepares best-practice cases and initiates technology development pathways for start-ups; oversees project communications and dissemination.

West Bohemian University in Pilsen — New Technologies Research Centre (NTC) conducts research and development in quantum physics applications, including quantum communication, information technologies, cryptography and quantum computing. The team combines experiments and computational simulations on novel quantum materials and regularly publishes in leading journals; the centre plays a national role in advancing quantum technologies in the Czech Republic.
UBT FUTURE ENERGY LAB WUNSIEDEL (FEL)
about the role in the project
Role: SME partner and applied pilot lead in the energy sector.
Responsibilities: Provides large, real-world energy-system datasets for analysis, simulation and optimisation; explores concrete use-cases for applying quantum technologies to improve load-balancing analyses; co-creates case studies and participates in workshops and conferences; acts as a bridge between universities, industry stakeholders and SMEs.

UBT Future Energy Lab Wunsiedel GmbH brings expertise in energy supply, infrastructure management and digital innovation, working closely with local utilities. Access to the Wunsiedel Energy Park (incl. electrolyser and renewables) supports hands-on testing of advanced solutions aimed at efficiency and sustainability.
